Between hills and sea
Olmedo is a small town of a 4033 inhabitants and it's situade in Nortn West of Sardinia, between the towns of Aghero, Porto Torres and Sassari. Probably itsi born by the root of "Olmo" (elm), belonging tree of family oaks that, in the Giudicato di Torres period, was widely in the area that now the hamlet. Olmedo is lay down in a hilly area it has panoramiicspot, which offers a charming view of surronding landascape that stretches it until Gulf of Alghero. Its territory is rich of historical ruins, documentd by the presence of twenty-five nuuraghes. Among the most important monuments include: the prenuragic village and megalithic wall of "Monte Baranta", the nuraghes "Su Casteddu". "Sa Femina", "Mannu","Masala" and "Talia" with annexed roman baths. Worth a visit also the church "Nostra Signora de Talia" located in the town, wich was once the parish.

First of May - "Patron Saint Day" in honor to Nostra Signora de Talia
August - "Sardegna in festa" : Three days to the tasting of the best dishes from 50 locations in Sardina. Guided tours of archaeological sites "Monte Baranta" and the necropolis "Anghelu Ruju"
First week of September - "Exhibition of bread" traditionally Olmedo's product.
December - "Crib of bread" set-up in the small churd "Nostra Signora de Talia"
